Richardson extends his stay in the Big Apple

It won’t garner much attention when held up next to all the major deals that are sure to be going down fairly soon, but the Jets move to retain FB Tony Richardson will be one of their more important signings when they line up again this fall.

Richardson played a major role in rejuvenating RB Thomas Jones and springing RB Leon Washington for his numerous big plays last season, and should end up doing more of the same this year under new head coach Rex Ryan, who is sure to emphasize a strong running game in New York.
